Additional Information
The wounds of war are not always inflicted by bullets, and the killers are not always soldiers. This is the story of a family, made from who was left. More than 11.6 million children are orphaned by AIDS in Africa, and like so many others, a young boy named Emmy is forced to grow up and find hope amidst incredible tragedy. Red is for Emmy: the story of an orphan.
Red is for Emmy is one of eight bracelets created through Invisible Children's Bracelet Campaign. Each bracelet is a different color, and each color represents an individual child. These colored bracelets are accompanied by an inspiring short film - Red is for Emmy runs 22 minutes long - about a child that has been personally affected by this unrelenting war. Our bracelets are handmade in Uganda out of reed that is dyed black. The wire is copper, coated in rubber that is painted for each particular bracelet campaign. Once sold, the money raised helps sustain valuable programs on both sides of the globe. Finally, a bracelet that comes full circle.
