Additional Information
You have heard the story of northern Uganda: of an unending war, night commuting, and children fighting as soldiers. But, you have only heard one side...Be the first to hear the other. Invisible Children's first story of a girl. Grace was abducted by the Lord’s Resistance Army when she was only ten years old. At thirteen, she was forced to be a slave for a rebel commander 40 years older. By the time she was sixteen she managed to escape the bush, only to find out that she was pregnant. Green is for Grace, the story of a child mother.
Green is for Grace is one of eight bracelets created through Invisible Children's Bracelet Campaign. Each bracelet is a different color, and each color represents an individual child. These colored bracelets are accompanied by an inspiring short film - Green is for Grace runs 15 minutes long - about a child that has been personally affected by this unrelenting war. Our bracelets are handmade in Uganda out of reed that is dyed black. The wire is copper, coated in rubber that is painted for each particular bracelet campaign. Once sold, the money raised helps sustain valuable programs on both sides of the globe. Finally, a bracelet that comes full circle.
